Donations for Land and Buildings: The Home has acquired as of August 1, 2006, two acres of property 2 miles from Kisumu which is the second largest city in Kenya next to Lake Victoria for a new Home away from the slums of Nairobi, the high costs, and the pervasive crime. Donations are now GREATLY needed for the buildings on the new land for the staff and the growing number of 282 orphaned children.
Donations for Food and Clothing: The need is exceedingly great at the orphanage. Most of the donations are from their friends and family, but Kenya is a poor country. The children have one meal a day and there are a great number more children with no parents that need admittance, but there is no space nor food for them. $29,500.00 is needed on an annual basis to provide all housing, food, clothing, and education for the present 282 children.
501(c)3 Non-Profit: Sandy Happy Children's Fund, Inc. is a Texas Non-Profit Corporation and is currently applying for its 501(c)3 designation by the U.S. Government. We anticipate receiving the designation within six months and understand that donations made now will qualify as a charitable deduction and will be "grandfathered in" when our 501(c)3 is received.
